Super Hero

I've seen this quote on Pinterest, and it really reminds my of my two boys . Our youngest looks up to his big brother so much.  He is always wanting to play with him and copying him which is why I loved these series of photos have been holding onto them for a while not sure how to use them.  Seeing the KaPow chipboard that was one of the SC shop items I had an idea to create a big die cut with this quote.  I loved how the SC exclusive alpha paper and the SC grid paper helped with a comic book type feel.

This week

Here are some posts from this week that I found interesting:

http://www.positivelypositive.com/2013/04/01/how-to-do-less-and-live-more/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+positivelypositive%2Fpositive+(Positively+Positive)

This sentence particularly resonated with me.  "We’ve been asking ourselves this question for decades. This isn’t breaking news. We all know that our lives are overbooked, and it seems to be getting worse. But lately, I’ve been wondering if we’re busier than we really need to be. Are we creating extra work and obligations for ourselves by thinking we’re more essential than we actually are? "

This weekend I'm going to focus on the essential and let go of some of the other things. We have been unplugging on Sat mornings - no T.V., no computers, no video games and we have received a lot more in exchange - more time together, more messes, more laughter, more art, more experiments.  Here is to less leading to more.

A new blog that seems interesting - the kids were here.  I love the idea of some of these pictures in my project life. http://kidswerehere.wordpress.com/

Love you more every day

I created this for the My Mind's Eye March challenge to use a diecut on a project.  I have had this calendar diecut in my stash since 2008 I think and it wound up being the perfect accent for my title Love You more every day.  The background paper is from Lost and Found 3 Oliver collection, which is really a boy collection but I thought the grey lacey background worked here.  I love when I can pull from my stash and mix in with the newer collections.

A Pirates Life for him

Love this boy so much.  Love his since of adventure, his love of the simple things and his love of sticks.

Made for the MME Groundhogs day challenge and I'm so glad I took on the challenge otherwise these pictures would still be on my hard drive.  I used a mix of the collections - Indie Chic boy brad, Lost and Found 3, The Sweetest Thing 6*6 pad.

BTW - my buttons slipped a little when I went out side to take my picture and I didn't notice until I was uploading my photo.  I'll be fixing them but don't know how much sunshine will have this weekend so wanted to get this posted while I could.

He Comforts You

I was so happy to have my camera to capture this moment.   The first time I saw Henry patting Emily on the back, comforting her after a cough.  Love seeing the two of them starting to take care of one another and comfort each other.

Made for the MME/Gossamer Blue GD contest. Most of the patterned papers were from the 6*6 The Sweetest Thing paper pad.  I love how the smaller patterns fit inside the circle design that I cut from a silhouette design.  I also added the chip board lace border piece and the "too cute from words" chip piece from the Lost and Found oliver chip board collection. Also added some tiny veneer Studio Calico alphas and an older SC & stamp in the center.  The alpha stamps are I believe the Stepping Stone alpha from one of the older SC add ons.  The heart brad is from Dear Lizzy 5th and Frolic collection.

Thanks so much SC for hosting the contest with a chance to be a guest designer.
